Information for StaffCourse ProceduresSchedulingScheduling of distance education classes is coordinated by the CDE in conjunction with academic departments, CDE staff, and (if appropriate) the UT TeleCampus. Academic departments seeking to add or delete distance education courses for an upcoming semester should contact the CDE to confirm the requested change. FeesFee approval from the Provost’s Office will be requested for distance education classes by the CDE. Once approved, a request to append fees is sent to Accounting and Business Services. When fees have been appended, the new course information is sent to Susie Libotte in Registration to be added to Schedule of Classes. AdvisingEarly admission students and non-Texas residents receiving instruction out-of-state must be cleared by their major department. UT Arlington students enrolling in distance education courses offered by UT Arlington are advised in the same manner as students taking classes on campus. All pre-majors and majors need to report to their department for advising clearance. UT Arlington students enrolling in courses offered by UT System Components through the UT TeleCampus should complete an IDEAR form. The UT TeleCampus Information System (TIS) is the central data hub for UT TeleCampus students, and it facilitates the efficient exchange of student information between campus administrators (advisors, registrars, financial aid officers and UT TeleCampus staff). It is the student’s responsibility to access their online course during the first week of the semester to begin completing required work. |
