Blogs combine text, images and multimedia related to certain topics which are published and displayed on a Web page in a reverse chronological order. Your blog can be either public or private. Session: “Podcasting Using Maverick Blogs”Podcasting is the process of broadcasting multimedia files via the internet and using syndication feeds to distribute to subscribers for playback using personal computers and mobile devices. This new emerging tool can be used in several facets of online courses as well as on campus courses. Topics include; Podcasting Basics, Syndication, Programs for playback, as well as recording/editing software.

Session: “Audio Editing Techniques”This course is designed to prepare an instructor to make basic edits to a digital sound file of coursework presentation. It is also oriented to reducing variables during the recording session (thus reducing the need for editing), and addresses basic post-editing issues.

Session: “Managing Blogs & Podcasts Using MavSpace”Office of Information Technology and the Center for Distance Education has joined to bring you tools that can help manage your blogs and podcasts. This 2-hour course is designed for users who wish to gain an understanding of how MavSpace can be used with your Blogs and Podcasts. MavSpace is a web-based service that allows users to store and share files via the Internet. The utility provides users with a personal, easy to use interface to upload, store, and share files with other people both inside and outside UT Arlington. The primary focus will be on uploading files and the hows and whys of file sharing. In the hands on portion of the course, we will practice uploading a file and then sharing that file.
